STARTERS

Crab cake, lemon butter sauce £9.50
Deniz’s recommended beer – Sharp’s Brewery Single Brew Reserve 2013. “It’s all about the hop! Brewed exclusively with Premiant, the best hop of 2013, Single Brew has a lemon fruit note with a clean bitterness, emphasising the lemon butter sauce, as well as lifting both the white and brown meat of the crab. A simple yet sophisticated partnership.”

Pea and ham hock soup £7.95

Crispy duck, cucumber salad, soy and sesame £7.95

Cropwell Bishop blue cheese salad, chicory and walnut £7.95
Deniz’s recommended beer – Boulevard Brewing Co. Single Wide IPA  “A style of beer that dates back to 18th century Great Britain. Six distinct hops create a floral taste along with a prominent bitterness – refreshing the palate and contrasting the creaminess of the cheese. A good American take on a British IPA”

Porthilly mussels, sage, cider, clotted cream £8.95

MAINS

8oz Rib-eye steak, field mushroom, watercress, fries, peppercorn sauce £25.00

Chicken and egg curry, coconut rice, flat bread, kachumber salad £17.50
Deniz’s recommended beer – Samuel Adams Boston Lager. “This lager helped lead the American beer revolution, reviving passion for full flavored beers once more. This Vienna style amber lager has a creamy mouthfeel, and highlights the spice and warmth of the curry.”

Lamb and carrot pie, mint sauce, hispi cabbage £17.50
Deniz’s recommended beer – Franciscan Well Rebel Red. “From Sharp’s sister brewery in Cork, Ireland. A unique tasting red ale with a caramel biscuit finish and balanced, underlying bitterness. This beer complements the full flavour and richness of the lamb and puff pastry, leaving room for the mint sauce to work its magic.”

Breaded brill, tartare sauce, romaine salad £21.50

Baked hake, white vegetables, new potatoes, parsley and garlic butter £16.50
Deniz’s recommended beer – Sharp’s Brewery Chalky’s Bite. A 6.8% abv Belgian abbey style beer. Citra and perle hops bring bitterness to cut through the butter and fish, accompanied by Trappist yeast and 3 months maturation for high level of carbonation and champagne like mouthfeel. Finally infused with wild Cornish fennel, this beer is a trusted seafood pairing.”

Portobello mushroom pie, pickled mushrooms, broccoli £13.50

SIDES
Fries £3.00
Cheesy Fries £3.50
Beer Battered Onion Rings £4.00
Doom Bar Bread £3.00
Seasonal vegetables £4.00

PUDDINGS

Steamed treacle and ginger sponge, custard £7
Deniz’s recommended beer – Timmermans Kriek Lambic. “Kriek lambic is a style of Belgian beer, fermented spontaneously with wild yeasts and the addition of sour Morello cherry juice. Alongside the sponge and custard, the cherry flavour of the beer mellows while lifting the ginger and vanilla.”

Chocolate tart, orange crème fraiche £7
Deniz’s recommended beer – Sharp’s Brewery Dubbel Coffee Stout 2013. “There’s no better drink alongside chocolate. Trust me”

St. Clements posset, orange granita, shortbread £7

3 year-old Davidstow ‘Crackler’ cheddar, Doom Bar fruit cake £7.50
Deniz’s recommended beer – Sharp’s Brewery 6 Vintage blend 2012. “Complex in its taste and creation, a beer with aromas of dark stewed fruits, with herbal hops and a boozy punch. A good friend to the 3 year matured cheddar.”
